Astro designed the brand identity, digital strategy and visual identity for Wildtype, a company making a healthy impact on our planet.

Internally, we undertook a naming exercise and developed storyboards with target audiences and market research insights in mind.

This influenced our approach to the new look and feel for Wildtype, which was designed to evoke the artisan nature of this avant-garde food, and the chefs that prepare it. Ultimately, we established an organic, playful look that can resonate with a wide audience.

We applied a visual lens to Wildtype's tone and voice to communicate sustainability. Additionally, we developed illustrations, packaging concepts, photography direction, and social media guidelines and tools to extend the brand into various channels.
Serve Good Food

Our goal was to help Wildtype create a consumer friendly brand that removed the stigma of lab grown meat and lead the way in cell-agriculture protein. We believe this is an impactful way to address some of the most pressing challenges to the health and future of people and our planet. Wildtype is using the brand to launch its sushi-grade salmon to chefs all over, in addition to serving it in the company's innovation space, the Wildtype Kitchen. The illustrations are designed to evoke the artisan nature of the food and the chefs that prepare it, while creating an organic, playful look that’s consumer-friendly. The brand mark is a roe, which is what the Wildtype salmon is grown from.

Astro provided market research, naming, branding, positioning, illustrations, packaging concepts, photography direction, and social media guidelines and templates. After finalizing the brand, Astro created a toolkit to demonstrate how the brand flexes across media, including web, apps, and social media.
